iPhone 11 Pro vs Google Pixel 4 Camera Comparison

The Pixel 3 was widely considered as having the best smartphone camera around until around September this year. Apple upped its game notably in the camera department with the iPhone 11 Pro and gave the Pixel a tough competition in the imaging department. With the Pixel 4 out, how does the iPhone 11 Pro’s camera compare to it? Has Google reclaimed the title for the best smartphone camera once again? Or has Apple delivered beyond expectations with the camera of the iPhone 11 Pro?
As the camera comparison from YouTuber Matthew Moniz shows, Apple really has managed to catch up to Google in terms of camera performance. Both phones take great photos irrespective of the situation, though the iPhone 11 Pro tends to take more natural-looking photos while the Pixel 4 tends to boost colors and saturation. The Pixel 4’s telephoto sensor does a far better job at retaining details and has better dynamic range than the iPhone 11 Pro’s telephoto sensor. But then, the latter has an ultra-wide angle sensor which the Pixel 4 lacks.
In low-light scenarios, the iPhone 11 Pro tends to capture more realistic looking photos while the Pixel 4 ends up brightening the entire scene. The iPhone 11 Pro tends to capture slightly sharper photos but then the Pixel 4 again trumps it in the dynamic range department. The Pixel 4 offers Night Sight for the front camera as well which gives it an edge when trying to take selfies in low-light situations. Also Read:Download & Save YouTube Videos to iPhone/iPad
When it comes to video recording, it is not even a fair contest. The iPhone 11 Pro can shoot 4K videos @ 60fps from all three cameras at the rear while the Pixel 4 is limited to 4K@30fps. The iPhone can also record 4K videos from the front camera but the Pixel 4 is limited to Full HD resolution. Even when it comes to slow-mo video recording, the iPhone 11 Pro can record 120fps slow-mo videos at Full HD resolution while the Pixel 4 is limited to just 120fps.
In terms of video quality, the iPhone 11 Pro does a better job in terms of color reproduction and keeping the noise at bay. The Pixel 4’s video comes out noisy and colors are muted and just don’t look that attractive.

Our Take

The iPhone 11 Pro might not beat the Pixel 4 in camera quality but it definitely gives it a tough competition. In my opinion, purely speaking based on still image quality comparison, the iPhone 11 Pro and Pixel 4 are even and it is impressive that Apple has managed to catch up to the Pixel 4 in still image performance in a year. They do manage to trump each other in different situations but the overall performance gap between them is negligible.
However, when one takes into account the flexibility of the iPhone 11 Pro’s triple-camera system and its superior video recording capabilities, the winner becomes obvious. People tend to do more than just take photos from their phones — they also record videos. And the ultra-wide angle shooter on the iPhone 11 Pro is just too useful to ignore.

Download iOS 13.2 and iPadOS 13.2 Beta 3

Apple today released the third developer beta of iOS 13.2 and iPadOS 13.2. The latest developer beta comes just a week after the company had released developer beta 2 with plenty of minor but important enhancements and bug fixes. Apple had just yesterday released the iOS 13.1.3 update for all iPhones on the stable channel with plenty of bug fixes.

The first beta of iOS 13.2 had introduced Deep Fusion for the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro while the second beta brought about a host of other improvements. It is likely that Apple is focusing on bug fixes and stability improvements with the third beta release of iOS 13.2.

Apple will presumably release iOS 13.2 and iPadOS 13.2 to the public at the end of October right before Apple TV+ goes live on November 1.

If your iPhone is already on the iOS 13 beta channel, you can head over to Settings -> General -> Software Update to grab the iOS 13.2 beta 3 update. The same also applies to iPads running iPadOS 13.2 beta 2.

In case your iPhone or iPad is running the stable version of iOS 13.1 or iPadOS 13.1, you will have to first install the developer beta profile on your device.

Alongside the second beta of iOS 13.2 and iPadOS 13.2, Apple has also released the fourth developer beta of watchOS 6.1 and third developer beta of tvOS 13.2. All these OS updates should be released to the public later this month.Tips:
